For three memorable months I called this 

place home deep within the romantic part

of Pontlevoy which you will find 25km east

of Amboise. This magnificent Abbey was founded in 1034, its extended history dates nearly a millennium

I enjoyed the solitude around the Abbey which made it great for studying outdoors. Wouldn't you  love to be surrounded in such a scenic && placid environment?

The Abbey consist of a tract of

land containing approximately 5.85 hectares

(14.46 Acres) and 14,111 gross square meters (151,890 square feet)

**As I awoke looking out of the window to my right, it was so surreal...I safely made it overseas. Suddenly, I began to cry because I am the first in my family to see whats it's like in a foreign country. The tremendous feeling of accomplishment after you stressed whether or not it was the right decision....to be brave..&&. discover the WORLD. I was very afraid but 12 hours LATER I had finally arrived by the grace of God watching over our flight...with clear sunny skies...there was no turning back**

Show Me What I'm Looking For

On Feb. 12, 2011 I embarked on a journey that changed my life forever...I studied abroad in Pontlevoy, France. I would like to share my personal as well as universal outlook on this treasured experience which I would encourage any student to partake upon. It was through the University of Southern Mississippi that I was able to go on such a voyage! I attend the University of Texas at Tyler, currently a junior majoring in a bachelor's degree of Art followed by a minor in journalism. Since being a part of The Abbey Program I am reconsidering what I desire out of life. My future career goals consists on me becoming the youngest MOST artistic photo-journalist from America! I am very passionate about doing so..whereas the back up options I have set for myself include being an Art Therapist or Magazine Editor. I plan to open up an Art Gallery in Seattle, Washington where my mother resides. I'm even thinking about being an educator for children introducing them to the possibilities creativity offers. The Abbey Program has made me believe more in myself, my dreams, && my ultimate vision. As human beings it's natural that we doubt our capabilities...when all we really need to do is get LOST then find ourselves in an unfamiliar location. Pontlevoy has done just this for me. I want to encourage && share every aspect of what I felt with others in hopes to inspire so that they too can bring the yearning resting inside there own     hearts to reality.
